The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most popular and beginner-friendly treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is an ideal choice for first-time trekkers with limited hiking experience, offering stunning Himalayan scenery without requiring extensive trekking skills.
Ghorepani is located in the Myagdi district, north-central Nepal, about 17 km from the district capital, Beni. The village sits at an altitude of approximately 2,874 meters (9,419 ft). From here, trekkers typically spend a night in one of the local guesthouses before setting out early to Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,531 ft), famous for its breathtaking sunrise views.
At Poon Hill, you can enjoy panoramic vistas of towering peaks such as Mt. Annapurna (8,091m / 26,545 ft) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m / 26,795 ft), contrasted with deep valleys and lush forested landscapes.
The trek passes through dense rhododendron forests, home to hundreds of bird species, orchids, and diverse flora and fauna. The colorful forests and sub-tropical valleys make this trail particularly scenic.
Along the trail, trekkers can experience local Nepalese culture and lifestyle, exploring traditional villages like Ghandruk, where Gurungs, Magars, Chhetris, and Bahaman communities live. The combination of beautiful villages, terraced farmlands, and mountain panoramas makes this trek a culturally enriching adventure.
Most trekkers stay in tea house lodges, which provide meals and lodging throughout the trek. The trail also connects to other villages and major routes, including the Annapurna Base Camp, making it a flexible and accessible trekking option.

Upon our arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our friendly staff will assist with your luggage and guide you to your accommodation
At early morning, we fly or drive for Pokhara and overnight at Hotel. Upon arrival in Pokhara, the lake city offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna. After a rest you can walk around the lake side of the city to explore surrounding areas
At Early morning we drive to Naya Pul from pokhara and start the trek. We pass through sub tropical valley forests after we will reach in Tikhedunga.
We make our ascent to the Ghorepani village. Ghorepani is an interesting place with small shops and stalls for selling local products and craft. The town has two parts: one in a saddle and the other a few hundred feet lower. From the higher part of the Ghorepani village that offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains including Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains. Overnight at Ghorepani.
Today will be a special day because we conquer Poon Hill- an icon of Annapurna region. To catch the magnificent splendor of sunrise over the Himalayas, we make an early morning climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3210mtrs). Poon Hill is a great view point of the world from where we will be able to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Mustang part and Pokhara valleys including the closest views of more than 20 highest mountains including the close-up views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After taking photos and having some coffee or tea or hot chocolate, we return back to Gorepani. Upon breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge. We descend through rhododendron forest, pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani for overnight.
From Tadapani, we make a steep descent through the dense and dark forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees. When the rhododendron trees are in bloom, these forests actually turn into gardens of dazzlingly beautiful flowers, mostly red. When we reached to Ghandruk again we need to walk 45 to Kimche and Take Jeep to Pokhara, It takes around 2 hrs drive.
As for your wish you can take a fight or take a drive to Kathmandu. Till some hours before flight or drive . Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted into our hotel.
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! Himalaya Trekking Team will drop to the airport before your flight time. Approximately 2 hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from! Himalaya Trekking Team will escort to the airport and bid farewell greetings. or if you have time you can extend your trip to Chitwan National Park for Jungle activities.

Nous avons passé 5 jours sur le trek de Poon Hill Avec Uttam qui s'est occupé de tout pour notre première expérience au Népal, s'adaptant très bien à notre rythme. Nous en avons Aussi pas mal appris sur la vie au Népal, il savait très bien où il allait et nous a même fait prendre des petits raccourcis sympa. It was a nice a pleasant trip with Himalaya trekking .. Mr Gurung our guide was very helpful and resourceful during the whole trip, two of our team members cannot walk down the hill, and they hired horses, mr Gurung was very patient follow them for the whole trip ! Thanks you! Overall the accommodation was good ! I strongly recommended them when anyone looking for a guide in Nepal trekking !

Before we don’t know we just our flight ticket to Nepal and later we planning to hike some place in Nepal and we contact with Himalaya Trekking Team and they offer us to visit in Poon Hill Trek wowo they organized so brilliant trip. I was so impressed with them to see their professional work and experience to organize very well our trip in Nepal.

"I had such a wonderful time with this company. I came to Nepal alone and was looked after from the minute I landed until I left. Everything went smoothly.
