Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is an unconventional trek especially fulfilling the demands of tourist looking to trek only Annapurna Base Camp Trek within a limited time frame. The Short Annapurna Trek offers the tourist the opportunity to experience indigenous region inhabited by people belonging to Gurung’s Magar and Thakali tribes, giving a quality insight into their lifestyle culture and work habits. The path leading towards Annapurna Base Camp is thrilling and refreshing as everything is beautifully lined up with rhododendron forests, oak and bamboos along the Modi Khola.Valley.

Himalaya Trekking Team has designed a trek into this dazzling natural amphitheater of mountain scenery and peaks encircling the entire Annapurna region. The Short Annapurna Base Camp trek offers majestic views of the snow- capped mountains and beautiful green fields. This mini version of trekking is picture perfect as one gets to explore the snowcapped glacial mountain tops of Annapurna South, Machhapuchre and so on, and is a time saving affair too. Be thrilled by this spectacular shorter version of Annapurna Base Camp and take away glorious moments back to your country and treasure it forever.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m) 7-8 hrs
Day 03: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (1940m) 6 hrs
Day 04: Ghandruk  to  Chhomorong (2170m) 5-6 hrs
Day 05: Chhomorong to Deurali (3230m) 5-6 hrs
Day 06: Deurali to ABC (4130m) 5 hrs
Day 07: ABC to Bamboo  (2340m) 7-8  hrs
Day 08: Bamboo to Jhinu  (Jhinu Hot Spring) (1780m) 5 hrs
Day 09: Jhinu to Pokhara, 5 Hours trek, and drive back to Pokhara – 1:30 Hour Driving
Day 10: Pokhara to Kathmandu, 7 to 8 hr driving
Day 11: Final Departure

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be warmly greeted by a representative from the Himalaya Trekking Team. After completion of customs formalities. we will collect your luggage and escort you to your Hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara Flight 25 M Flight and drive to nayapul and trek to Ghandruk (1940m)  5-6 hrs trek

We take an early morning flight to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city and catch great views of the Himalayas from the right side of our airplane. After landing in the Pokhara airport, we drive to Naya Pul (1 hour and 20 minutes) and start the trek. From Birethanti, we trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, we also visit the Gurung museum today.  Overnight in Ghandruk.

Day 03: Ghandruk  to  Chhomorong (2170m) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast in Ghandruk we will continue our trek to Chhomorong, At this juncture, we climb up for about an hour up to Kimrungdanda. On the way, we can enjoy great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre) and Ganggapurna. A steep descent takes us to the Kimrong Khola. After another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while and then it’s a gentle walk to Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a beautiful village located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive. Overnight in Chhomrong.

Day 04: Chhomorong to Deurali (3230m) 5-6 hrs

We descend via 2500 stone steps and cross the suspension bridge above Chhomrong Khola. From here it is an uphill climb to Lower Sinuwa and the Upper Sinuwa. Next, we pass through a beautiful forest to Kuldihar followed by an easy downhill walk to Bamboo. We pass through a bamboo forest which is damp and cold then ascend steadily with a few steep sections. It is only after reaching Himalaya Hotel that the forest opens up and we are out in the sun again with astounding views of the glacial river below. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here we can see the trail drop closer to the river before climbing again to Deurali, the most scenic stretch of the day. The vegetation is sparser, allowing magical views of the valley, the river below, and the sheer rock-face cliffs above with bands of wispy waterfalls. Overnight in Deurali.

Day 05: Deurali to ABC (4130m) 5 hrs

Climb gently through a river bed then over a steep trail over to the mountain side. The hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. From Machhapuchhre base camp we get excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna which is certainly a rewarding experience. The vegetation disappears on our way to ABC and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna sanctuary. From here, we get sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us. The sanctuary boasts of a dynamic view without anything impeding the 360-degree panorama. From the base camp we again get to savor mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South , Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 06:ABC to Bamboo  (2340m) 7-8  hrs

From the Annapurna base camp we retrace our steps to Bamboo. Today’s trek is downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up.  Overnight in Bamboo.

Day 07: Bamboo to Jhinu  (Jhinu Hot Spring) (1780m) 5 hrs

From Bamboo, it is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Today we will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which is just a 15-20 minute downhill walk from Jhinu Danda to soothe our aching body. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.

Day 08:Jhinu to Pokhara, 5 Hours trek, and drive back to Pokhara – 1:30 Hour Driving

We walk at the right side of Modi Khola for about 5 hours to Birethanti which can be considered one of the best and the most relaxing walks of the entire Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Upon reaching Nayapul, we take a Jeep and drive back to Pokhara where we stay overnight at hotel

Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu, 7 to 8 hr driving

We will be ready to Kathmandu in the morning along the Prithivi Highway. There are many interesting views on this trip including mountains, rivers, waterfalls and jungle as well as farm terraces and villages. It takes approximately 7-8 hours to drive to Kathmandu

Day 10: Final Departure

A representative from the Himalaya Trekking Team will assist you to the airport for departure. You will know we have done everything we can to leave you with an unforgettable travel experience in Nepal. We hope you will return.
