Dhulikhel is also famous place to see a panoramic view of mountain. What makes it different is that views from Dhulikhel are more astounding than from anywhere. It is a hill station on the eastern side of Kathmandu, 32 km away where can drive in just 1 and half hour. Once in Dhulikhel we have a choice for doing either a day hike to nearby villages or continue on towards Nagarkot (5-6 hours will be needed for so). There is much history in Dhulikel and, among others, a short visit to Namobuddha, with the Buddhist stupa and monastery, is highly recommended. There is also Panauti, a village noted for its numerous temples with magnificent woodcarvings, is a short distance from Dhulikhel, which is well worth a visit. Dhulikhel is on the way to Kodari - a town in Nepal bordering with Tibet. You can visit Dhulikhel either from Kathmandu or by stopping on the way if you are coming from Tibet.
After breakfast, we drive 32 km east of Kathmandu to Dhulikhel. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Then to the north are views of many of the world's highest mountains.
